Annual Exhibition and Fashion Show- 2024
Machakos University Department of Design held a spectacular Fashion Show and Design Exhibition on Friday, 12th April 2024. The event was a celebration of creativity, innovation and design excellence, showcasing the incredible talent of the department’s students.
The event was facilitated by the CoD- Department of Design, Dr. Benta Oguda in collaboration with unit lecturers. The head of Department of emphasized the role of design education in nurturing creative talent and shaping the future of the design industry in Kenya. She also applauded the students and commended their attempt at cross-cutting designs from the African continent and from others parts of the world. The head of department highlighted the pivotal role of the Department of Design in the future of the Competency Based Curriculum as the host for the creative pathways.
Dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Dr. Larry Ndivo: appreciated the students’ effort and participation in such an exhibition noting that such activities are highly encouraged and place students in best positions for job opportunities as well self-employment. The Dean also highlighted the impact of design on cultural and social dynamics.
